The conference organizers have made agreements with three peer reviewed scientific journals to publish selected papers from the WETPOL2019 conference as special issues. All those who presented (oral or poster) are invited to submit their full paper for review. The papers must be prepared according to the guidelines of the individual journals, and will be subjected to peer-review following the usual procedures of the journals. If accepted, the papers will be published as part of special issues. Detailed information on how to submit papers for the special issues is presented below.
Water is an open access journal on water science and technology, including the ecology and management of water resources. Water is an interdisciplinary journal covering all aspects of water, including water science, technology, management and governance. It publishes original research papers, critical reviews and short communications. There is no restriction on the length of the papers. Water will publish a special issue comprising papers from the WETPOL2019 conference entitled “Wetlands in Action: Sustainable Water Management and Resource Recovery”. There will be publication fee waivers for selected feature papers and 30% discount for other research or review papers from conference participants. All papers are published as soon as they are accepted. Deadline for manuscript submissions: 31 December 2019. Science of the Total Environment
Science of the Total Environment is an international multi-disciplinary journal for publication of original research on the total environment, which includes the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, lithosphere, and anthroposphere. Science of the Total Environment has been the publication outlet for previous WETPOL conferences. Science of the Total Environment will publish a special issue entitled “Natural and Treatment Wetland Services in a Changing World”. All Science of the Total Environment special issues are virtual special issues, i.e. papers are published as soon as they are accepted in regular issues, and a Special Issue link will later be created to group special issue articles. Deadline for manuscript submissions: 31 December 2019. Follow this link to get more information and to submit your paper https://www.journals.elsevier.com/science-of-the-total-environment. When submitting your paper you must select VSI:Wetpol 2019 as the article type. It is important that you select the correct article type when you submit your articles in EES. If you select the wrong article type your paper may end up publishing in a regular issue and not the special issue.
Hydrobiologia is an international journal publishing original research, reviews and opinions investigating the biology of freshwater and marine environments, including the impact of human activities. Coverage includes molecular-, organism-, community- and ecosystem-level studies dealing with biological research in limnology and oceanography, including systematics and aquatic ecology. In addition to hypothesis-driven experimental research, it presents theoretical papers relevant to a broad hydrobiological audience, with a clear link to biological aspects. Applied aspects are considered if firmly embedded in an ecological context. Hydrobiologia will publish a special issue entitled “Wetland ecosystems: functions and use in a changing climate”. Manuscripts may include (but are not limited to) studies of the effects and mitigation of climate change impacts by natural wetlands and their fauna and vegetation, perspectives for paludiculture and environmental effects on wetland geology, hydrology and biology. Conference participants who wish to publish their work within this frame are encouraged to send their contributions to https://www.editorialmanager.com/hydr/default.aspx. Under “Select article type”, choose “S.I.: Wetland Ecosystems (Brix et al.)”. Please comply with the journal’s guidelines for authors. The date of first submission is 31. October 2019, and submissions can be made latest on 31. December 2019.
